1 July, 2021Do you have scratches on your aluminium door? This is of interest to you
7 July, 2021You may have noticed that the high temperatures are here and we have to prepare our home for the hottest season of the year. It is important to have everything ready to avoid bad experiences due to the heat.
One of the first things to do is to check the state of the mosquito nets. Surely you have noticed that dirt has accumulated on the mosquito nets in your window and you may have asked yourself: How to clean them?
Here are the steps to follow:
1. The first thing we must know is the type of mosquito nets we want to clean, that is to say, if they are fixed, roll-up, removable…etc. In any case, it is essential to clean them frequently to remove dust, insects, pollen and any other type of dirt. Similarly, if you are allergic to any of these flying insects, you should clean them more regularly to avoid possible allergic reactions.
2. The best way to clean any mosquito net is to use a sponge soaked in soap and water. You can use the same liquid detergent you use for washing dishes. It is best to use a basin to avoid excessive use of soap and water. If you have an old toothbrush, it is advisable to use it, without rubbing too hard so that it does not break, to reach all the nooks and crannies. If the screen is very dirty, you can add a little ammonia or liquid degreaser to make the dirt come off more easily.
3. Then use a cloth or rag dampened only with water to rinse the net and remove all traces of soap. We recommend that you rinse the cloth several times to avoid foaming and the net not being cleaned properly. Also make sure that the window frame and screen edges are completely clean or your work will have been in vain.
5. When it comes to drying the screen, you can either use a dry cloth to remove excess water or, as a better option, let it air dry. This is because depending on the cloth you use, it is possible that the lint may accumulate on the net and backfire, as if it had not been cleaned.
