Glass elevator enclosure and stainless steel in Barcelona
Enclosure of hoistway made 5 +5 laminated glass and stainless steel structure, made up of stainless steel square tube 40×40 mm stainless steel U 20×20 mm. The elevator covering 3 floors, and the structure was about 12 meters high. In some sections of the enclosure, it was decided to put frosted glass instead of clear to give it more privacy. As we see in the image below in some glass had to be made in the form of the stair steps, adapting well to the work. Each floor was introduced door stainless steel of the same material, but this time with lockable tempered glass, in order to increase safety in the house. In the elevator doors on each landing, the structure was modified in order to join the same elevator doors in order to look like a single piece. The initial structure of steel was produced previously in our workshop in parts and were assembled in the assembly later. The windows were sealed with clear silicone Würth brand neutral, grade silicone that does not change color over time. This work was done in a work week for 3 workers, since it is an unusual task for us, however, there were no errors and everything went as planned.
