As we all know, aluminium is a great material for anything we need, but being soft if you are not very careful, it can end up with several scratches, so we are going to give you some tips on how to fix those annoying scratches that damage the aesthetics of your aluminium doors. Let’s get started!
What will we need to fix those scratches?
To solve our problem with scratches we are going to need several things, starting with a cotton cloth, an aluminium polishing product and a very fine grain sandpaper. Once you have all this, let’s get started.
- The first thing to do is to polish the scratches, using fine-grained sandpaper and being very cautious, if we are not careful we can make the scratches worse as aluminium is a very soft material.
- We then wipe the surface with our cotton cloth. Then we apply a soapy water solution to remove any residue that may remain and make sure to dry thoroughly.
- Next we will polish the affected area with our aluminium polishing product. Make sure you apply a small amount of this product and that the cloth you are going to use is completely dry and lint-free. Spread the product carefully in a circular motion until the surface is shiny.
- And finally we’ll clean the area again with our soap solution and wipe it dry. And we’re done! We’re sure you’ve done a great job and you’ll be left with a shiny, like-new door.
