COMMERCE + SUSTAINABLE

What is it?

+ Sustainable Commerce is the Barcelona City Council program aimed at commerce entities and businesses that have signed the Citizen Commitment to Sustainability.

By adhering to the Commitment, the signatories assume their share of responsibility in building a more sustainable Barcelona, ​​committing themselves to developing actions in their field of work and disseminating them.

Commerce + Sustainable is part of a larger network, Barcelona + Sustainable, in which there are nearly 1,000 entities, companies, organizations, businesses, educational centers and universities, among others, all of them signatories of the Citizen Compromise for Sustainability of Barcelona.

Principles of the Commerce + Sustainable program

Mission: Extend the culture of sustainability to the commercial sector of Barcelona through the principle of shared responsibility. Vision: We want Barcelona’s shops to be a benchmark in the field of sustainability and for shops to be the agents and main protagonists of change.

Objectives

• Promote actions in favor of sustainability to commercial entities and businesses, for the benefit of the same commercial establishments and society.
• Value the facilitating action of the associative entities of the world of commerce.
• Highlight and recognize the contribution of entities and businesses to improving sustainability in the city.
• Make a city, projecting the image of a commercial fabric that is committed to quality.

Who can join?

Associations, commerce hubs and guilds, as well as all their associates in Barcelona that develop actions in favor of sustainability and make them public.

The program proposes to each entity the development of an annual action plan to improve the sustainability of its activity, with actions involving its associates. Associated businesses can adhere to the proposals of their entity, and add their own initiatives.

On the other hand, Commerce in Barcelona that want to be exemplary for their contribution to sustainability can independently join the + Sustainable Commerce program and develop their own action plan.

CITIZEN COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY 2012-2022

This establishment is committed to actively working during 2022 on the following actions proposed by the Gremi de Serrallers de Catalunya within the framework of the Citizen Commitment to Sustainability:

Plan Actions:

• ENVIRONMENTALIZATION OF SPACES AND EVENTS: Participate in the communication campaign to save resources aimed at workers and customers, attaching stickers and information posters to the business, to carry out good practices in resource efficiency at the premises.

• DIAGNOSIS, SAVINGS AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY: It will implement measures to increase efficiency and energy savings. For example, hiring a green marketer, installation of LEDs, installation of motion detectors in warehouses.

• COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY – It will improve accessibility in your commerce

• SOCIAL RIGHTS, PEOPLE’S WELL-BEING AND INCLUSION: Recruitment of young people at risk of social exclusion for internships in companies.
