21 November, 2022Energy has a strong presence and influence in our daily lives, and its environmental and economic impact highlights the particular importance of using renewable energy sources, with solar energy at the forefront.
As a society, efficient energy consumption and management is one of the main challenges we face today.
Although it seems that all this renewal is only starting now, the reality is that companies have been implementing energy efficiency programmes for years to optimise energy consumption by carrying out different actions and including energy efficient installations, automating, monitoring and rationalising their various equipment and their maintenance.
We can change the fate of our planet with small actions that add a lot to this fight against climate change and that will also result in economic savings that we will be grateful for.
The installation of solar panels is a source of many benefits, both for people’s pockets and for the transformation we must make to take care of our planet and have cleaner, greener and more sustainable environments.
Solar energy, by far the energy with the most benefits
As we have already mentioned, solar energy is the jewel in the crown, as it is one of the easiest to produce, it is ecological, tremendously adaptable and, unlike the others, it contributes to sustainable development as it does not generate emissions and reduces the use of fossil fuels. In addition, we can transform it into electricity according to demand and use the surplus once it has been stored.
Companies’ drive for the distributed generation model
Solar energy companies are promoting the conversion of the centralised generation model to combine it with the distributed generation model, in order to favour self-consumption and energy savings.
This type of model frees up energy management, based on the provision of electricity through systems that are close to the places where it is consumed, thus avoiding energy leakage and using renewable sources such as photovoltaic installations. In addition to its great economic and environmental benefits, this generation reduces the emission of polluting gases and CO2, increases the security of supply and lowers the price as it does not depend so much on imported energy from other areas.
They are a risk-free investment
The installation of solar panels is a risk-free investment for our pocket, but we also take care of the planet. Investing in solar panels will increase the value of your home, offering monthly savings on your electricity bill. They can be amortised during the first 7/8 years, although it will obviously depend to a large extent on the size and type of installation. Solar panels have a life of 25 to 30 years.
It is the cheapest of the energy sources.
Solar energy is currently the cheapest source of electricity and the one with the greatest potential in the coming years. In recent years, the efficiency of solar panels has been multiplied by 1.5 times. In other words, we can now get 1.5 times more energy from a single panel.
We are helping to care for the planet
Installing solar panels at home multiplies the generation of energy from renewable sources, transforming the roof of our home or business, we could go from 39% of renewable electricity production that currently exists in Spain to 81%. If we promote solar energy, we will be much closer to a world that runs 100% on green energy. In this way, we also save on energy transport, avoiding losses and making the whole process more efficient, passing these savings on to us, the users, in our electricity bills.
Easy to install
To enjoy a system of self-consumption of energy with solar panels, two requirements are necessary, obviously, one or more solar panels and a direct current inverter that transforms this current into alternating current and that is connected by cable to the photovoltaic panels.
It is well known that thanks to these panels it is possible to convert the energy we receive from the sun into electricity, but the power received is incompatible with the 220V that is received in homes. Since the electricity coming from the panels is direct current and has an unstable voltage. For this reason it is necessary to use an inverter, as it adapts at all times and instantaneously to the climatic conditions, extracting the maximum amount of energy from the solar panels, and for total security the installation has a built-in circuit breaker and a differential, to avoid any unpleasant situation.
Thanks to Royal Decree 244/2019 on self-consumption, the current regulation, it is easier than ever to install solar panels in our home or business, as the administrative procedures have been greatly reduced and, most importantly, economic gaps have been eliminated, such as the “sun tax” or the obligation to install a generation meter for an individual installation. This Royal Decree also allows us to make use of surplus energy in a very simple way, thus reducing the amortisation times that the installation may have entailed.
Ponsico manufactures and installs the aluminium structure.
Aware of the change that the planet needs, at Ponsico we have been able to incorporate the installation of structures where the solar panels rest into our work. Manufactured entirely in aluminium, the structure does not require maintenance as aluminium is a very resistant material and withstands the inclemency and the passing of time without any problem.
The photos that you can see in this post are a work done by ourselves. It consists of the manufacture and installation of a pergola type aluminium structure for solar panels.
If you need a structure where to place your solar panels, do not hesitate to contact us without obligation and we will assist you with any questions you may have.
